Loved ones: pages 8; Joy.
@ The MARQUEES mansion;
It was a large white-painted room with statues and pictures of elegant designs hanging on the wall, the floor were made of an odd design of white marbles and precious stones which were reflected off the glassy-like ceiling and at its center hung a chandelier stopping directly above a large black table with a gold center and a symbol *M* made of diamonds and resembling a family crest engraved on it. The table was surrounded by 12 chairs, 11chairs were of the same design and the other one was of a different design and looked more like a throne and was built into the massive table that was at the center, he sat admiring the room, just as the others kept trickling in.
They sat quietly waiting for his reply, he in turn just sat back gazing at them expecting a question.
Finally one of them summoned courage “what is to be done, Mathew?”, he asked, smiling arrogantly.
Mathew smiled, this could be the one thing they needed to usurp power. Gasping the reality of the situation, he nodded nonchalantly, trying his utmost best to conceal the turmoil within. he continues gazing across the room, his sights finally resting on the one who asked the question, Uncle Mike. Uncle mike always lusted for power, even now, he didn’t hide his greed for power as the others did. “Well, as expected we are to welcome Law Marquees, wholeheartedly”. He answered indifferently, as he stood. Striding heartily out of the hall, just as the guards and sons of the Elders started clamoring, “now this is the best way to end a meeting” he said to himself.
Back @ Blackport;
One disadvantage of placing a bed by the window-side, is that as the sun rises so does you, my scenario was no less different. I came awake with a snug, my eyesight partially blurred by the light, my hands rubbing against the sheets searching for the warm feel of her skin. I sigh! Trying my best to keep away the tears, my eyes set on the rising sun. The loads I carry weren’t rising with the sun as I had hoped instead they were crushing me, bit by bit.
Bang! Bang! Loud knocks on the door jerked me from my self-loathing, my heart was so
heavy I could barely stand so I laid stretched out on the bed, listening to them as they beat the hell out of the door. Since this area was prone to robbery, houses were made in such a way to prevent unwarranted entry.
“No one is around, little girl. Maybe we should come back later”, the policeman said as he glanced at his female partner before finally resting his gaze on the little girl, she nods her head, disagreeingly and rushes forward, knocking on the door, desperately.
His female partner, grabs her and hugs her, whispering “its gonna be ok! Its gonna be ok” into her ears as tears trickled down her cheeks.
The door comes ajar, It was amazing how a knock drew me from the bed in seconds. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of Princess, knocking me breathless and frozen.
Startled, they all stare at me. For a second there, they couldn’t believe someone was actually inside this whole time.
Princess crying, jumps and hugs me with such a force that threw me off balance.
I landed with a thud on the floor, my arms instinctively guarding her from hitting the floor.
The policemen, just stared at us, amused at the fact that we were behaving like lions, lions usually tend to throw each other off their paws in happiness.
Joy flooded my being, I had always imagined heaven and the joy I did feel as I was reunited with friends, family and ancestors but the joy I felt now was exactly as I imagined, and sooner rather than later, tears soon became busts of laughter as her hands kept finding my soft spots.
The female police officer drew her male counterpart by the hands from the scene, laughing loudly.
The reunion had lasted for hours. She had finally fallen asleep, after eating and asking me useless questions like “dah dah!, where is Linda?, how is Diamond doing?”, seriously how would I care about that, but coming to think of it, maybe I was just being an insensitive jerk. My train of thought was cut short as the door came ajar with a Bang!.
Law walked inside, his menacing eyes set on me.
I stare back, hoping my eyes had that ‘Don’t cross me look’. Oddly enough I wasn’t scared and slowly the words came out “its good that you feel this way, though I doubt there is something you could do to feel happy, again” or maybe I was just stupid, baiting a dragon in the open is certain death.
Law fists rammed the door post knocking it off its hinges, I had certainly hit a nerve.
